From her Poundbury workshop in the heart of Dorset, Fiona creates hats and headpieces using traditional techniques and materials. Each piece is uniquely handcrafted to the highest standards.
She allows her designs to evolve organically, drawing her inspiration from nature; from the surrounding countryside; from a flower or a shell; from the very materials themselves.
Having originally started a millinery course at Epsom College of Art, Fiona then went on to the Bournemouth Arts Institute to complete an HND in Costume Design. Whilst working, and completing a degree in Fine Art Valuation, Fiona always maintained her passion for millinery and continued to expand her knowledge of this wonderful craft attending courses with inspirational professionals.
She has exhibited her hats both locally and nationally, including ‘The Contemporary Craft Festival’ Bovey Tracey and ‘Handmade in Britain’ at Chelsea Old Town Hall. In 2013, she won first prize in the Open Millinery Competition at the Bridport Hat Festival with a hat, inspired by the beauty of the local area.
